Bill Nieder is an American athlete who was born on November 27, 1949. He participated in the 1976 Olympics and is a two-time winner of the Boston Marathon.
Nieder was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He became interested in athletics at a young age and played football as well as ran track for his high school team. He also joined the Marines after graduating from high school and served there for four years before he started to study at the University of Colorado.
In 1973, Nieder won the Boston Marathon with a time of 2:14:00 which made him one of only three Americans to win that race since World War II. In 1976, he competed in the Olympics and finished with a time of 2:18:28 which put him in eighth place overall.
