The National Democratic Congress have checked out of the Ejisu By-election out of the party’s own decision.

As a result of the sudden passing away of the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency, Hon John Kumah, the electoral commission have scheduled a date for a new Member of Parliament to be elected for the constituency.

According to the general secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Fifi Fiavi Kwetey in addressing the press pointed to the fact that, the Party has made a decision of exempting themselves from the Ejisu By-elections in order for them as the leading opposition political party to zero in on preparations towards the forthcoming main parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for December 7th, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Ejisu constituency By-election is scheduled to take place on April 30, 2024.

Plus, the New Patriotic Party conducted their internal elections to elect the party’s representative which involved nine parliamentary aspirant. After a fiercely contested primaries, Mr Kwabena Boateng won the elections with three hundred and four votes.
