His Excellency the vice president of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during his ‘Homecoming tour’ in the Northern region, in a visit to the Ya Na, Abubakari Mahama II in yendi announced his intentions of working hard to bring success to the people of Ghana.
Dr Bawumia said this on Wednesday, November 22 during his time with paramount traditional chiefs. He took the opportunity to make a courtesy call on Nyelinboligu Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana Abdullai paramount Chief of Nanumba Traditional council in Bimbila, Ubor Mateer Bowon Kwayaja Paramount Chief of Saboba Traditional council and the overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Biikunuto Jewu Soale l, in Damongo.
According to the flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party, Dr Bawumia acknowledged the fact that, the traditional leaders have supported him in diverse ways and he appreciate it meanwhile, promised to precide over a good governance when elected as the president in the 2024 general elections.
“I am grateful to the royal majesties, and thier elders, for the continuous support, encouragement and wise counsel. I would continue to work for all, for the progress of our dear country,” Dr Bawumia said.
Ya Na Abubakari II gifted Dr Bawumia wise counsel by requesting him to see the flag bearer for the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama as his sibling not his enemy.
“John Mahama is your big brother not your enemy. See him as an elder brother as you go about your campaign.
“We just have to be grateful to all Ghanaians for trusting that only a Northerner can lead Ghana in 2024. It is a good opportunity for us to demonstrate our maturity, competence, honesty and dedication,” Ya Na said.
