Talented Ghanaian high-life singer, Kuami Eugene has come out to provided substantial reasons why he deserves to be honored with the songwriter of the year award during the next edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) ceremony.

In a recent interview on Accra-based TV3, the Empire Music signee stated that he feels that the criteria for the selection of the winner of the aforementioned award category doesn’t take into consideration his exceptional songwriting ability.

According to Kuami Eugene, he deserves to be accorded the dignity of being crowned the winner of the songwriter of the year award based on the fact that he has written songs for top-class musicians like Adina, Keche, Joyce  Blessing and Becca.

During the interview, Kuami Eugene stated emphatically that, though he has never been awarded for the songwriter award category, he is optimistic that he will leave the upcoming VGMA ceremony with the award due to his amazing achievement as far as songwriting is concerned.
