Head Pastor of the Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro has questioned the rationale behind the release of prophecies on the last day of every year, a practice that has become a norm for some Ghanaian Pastors over the past few years.

Speaking as a guest on the recent edition of UTV’s United Showbiz program, the famous Ghanaian Prophet said he finds it astonishing why some Prophets claim God speaks to them only on 31st December.

Adding to this, he made it clear that, personally, he doesn’t believe in prophetic revelations that came only on the 31st night of December.

He further disclosed that he doesn’t understand why it is only on the 31st of December that some Pastors decide to drop Prophecies because he can fathom how God speaks to them only at the end of the year.

December 31st has over the years emerged as one day that is noted for the release of numerous Prophetic revelations about events that will occur in the coming year.

Divergent to this norm introduced by some Pastors in Ghana, some critics have pointed out that some men of God use the night to build tension and cause fear and panic by releasing doom prophecies.

In December 2021, the Ghana Police Service issued a stringent warning to Pastors to desist from issuing alarming or doom prophecies.

In December 2022, the Police Service issued another warning stating that any Pastor or Prophet who makes any prophetic revelation that is capable of causing fear and panic will be up for a five year jail term per the laws of the land.
