Speaker of Parliament, Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin revealed how his home was almost sold to a private person.
The RT.Hon Speaker Alban Sumana Bagbin speaking at the ‘Speakers Breakfast Forum’ in Greater Accra on Monday 20th November,2023 spoke unequivocally about attempt made by government to sell his residence to a private investor without his notice.
“Many of you don’t know that even my residence of the speaker was almost sold to a private sector. Actually, it was given out.
“It was when they went to register that the lands Commission identified that that was the residence of the Speaker. Luckily, I was inside, so it was saved,” Hon. Alban Sumana said.
This new development revealed by the Speaker of Parliament, Hon Alban Sumana Bagbin has raised eyebrows with respect to how government lands are been issued out to the private sector and the future implications it’s going to have on the country.
The revelation made by the speaker also served as a wake up call to the Lands Commission to be up and doing with their daily mandate.
