The current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has stated that voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 presidential would be an indirect extension of Nana Addo’s leadership tenure.
The former President believes citizens will experience additional economic hardship if the NPP is given the opportunity to govern the country again in 2025.
In line with this disclosure, Mr. Mahama stated that anybody who votes for the NPP in the forthcoming election is giving Nana Addo the chance to govern for an additional four years.
In a recent address at his “Building Ghana Tour” in Junkwa, the NDC flagbearer raised concerns about the country’s escalating debts, which has increased from 120 billion in 2016 to 600 billion cedis.
Speaking about the country’s debt increase, Mahama attributed the situation to Nana Addo’s inability to replace the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta, placing blame on the Minister’s decision as the major of cause of the country’s increasing debt stock.
During his recent address, he stated that he can’t fathom why the President has refused to remove his brother from Ministry of Finance.
According to Mahama, he can’t understand why one person is being kept at the Ministry when eight different MPs for signed a petition for his removal.
Furthermore, Mr. Mahama who is seeking for a comeback in office described himself as a savior sent to redeem Ghana from the hardships that has taken over the country in recent years.
