Types of Nurses in Ghana

Out of about 115 650 health workers employed in the public sector in 2018, 58% were nurses and midwives whose numbers increased by 370% between 2008 and 2018. Among the nursing and midwifery workforce, 31% and 22% are enrolled nurses and community health nurses respectively (who are trained for 2 years).
