Legendary Ghanaian Goalkeeper, Ali Jara has backed Richard Ofori to be the number one goalkeeper for the Black Stars of Ghana.

In a recent interview on Max TV, the legendary Ghanaian goalkeeper asserted that there is a big difference between form and experience adding that the two cannot be merged to become one.

According to Ali, Richard Ofori is one of the most matured goalkeepers we have in the system now.

He was quick to add that the likes of Lawrence Ati Zigi and Jojo Wollacott are now coming hence they have more time available for them to learn from the matured ones.

Ali Jara’s opinion is bound to attract attention and may be subject to a lot of criticisms based on the fact Richard Ofori hasn’t been in post for Orlando Pirates for a very long time in the South African league.

Though Richard Ofori has been selected by Chris Houghton as the first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars in recent matches, it’s quite uncertain if the Orlando Pirates shot-stopper will continue to main his spot as the number one goalkeeper of the team moving into the 2023 AfCON tournament.
