The National Democratic Congress’s communications officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi has accused Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for deliberately exempting the efforts made by the NDC Government for the implementation of the Ghana card system

Mr Sammy Gyamfi in his submission censured His Excellency the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for not giving credit to the previous NDC administration which was being headed by Fmr President John Mahama for his inputs in making sure, the Ghana card system would materialize.

He claimed that, mistakes of not recognising whoever provided any form of inputs for a national development to be implemented can’t be accepted.

“Upon assumption of office in 2017, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia constituted a three-man committee, headed by Prof. Ken Attafuah to review the contract and implementation of the Ghana card system.” He said

“The committee established the facts enumerated above which is contained on page one of the report and recommended the use of the existing database to continue from where the NDC left off.

“Indeed, the National Identification Authority boss, Prof. Ken Attafuah told parliament that was signed by the NDC and John Mahama administration with the Margins Group is the same contract that is been implemented today.” Mr Sammy Gyamfi added

Legal practitioner, Mr Sammy Gyamfi iterated that, under this current NPP administration, there are no new policy implementations but rather, they’re only making progress with all unfinished policies which where started by the previous government.

“Clearly, this government only came to continue the implementation of a system that had already been developed by the NDC and John Mahama government, as a continuation of what was started under President Kuffuor and continued by President Mills of blessed memory. The Ghana card credit must therefore be shared by all successive governments who contributed to where we are today.
