The Ghana Tourism Authority’s Tema office has partnered with local radio stations Obunu FM and Plan B FM to host the 2024 edition of the annual Chocolate Day celebrations in Tema on February 13-14, as part of the National Chocolate Week from February 9-14.

The National Chocolate Week, slated for February 9-14, 2024, is a national celebration to highlight Ghana’s unique cocoa products and also position Ghana as the preferred destination for cocoa-based tourism, while appreciating the contribution of industry stakeholders.

Activities will be held under the theme “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy and Grow Ghana” and sub-theme: Explore Ghana, Eat Chocolate. This annual celebration is a partnership between the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Cocoa Board and the Cocoa Processing Company.

In Accra, activities will include mosque and church visitations, a health walk, chocolate exhibitions, a cook-off, school competitions, and tours of tourist sites with chocolate.

Ghana Tourism Authority Tema joined the head office on Saturday to participate in the health walk from Accra Tourist Information Centre to Chocolate City.

In Tema, the popular Chocolate Day event will take place on February 14, along the Greenwich Meridian line at the Community 1 Presby Church. There will be the traditional chocolate sharing ceremony showcasing cocoa products from local companies.

Major sponsors include Cocoa Processing Company, TN Delfah Golden Pod Cocoa, GPHA Tourist Club, Japet Catering Services, Mayflower Catering Services, T-Havana Parks, Golden Millennium Hotel, and Ike City Hotel.
