Afcon 2023: Black stars seeded in group B

In the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations, the Ghanaian national football team, known as the Black Stars, finds itself placed in Group B alongside three other African countries. This tournament, scheduled to be held from January 13 to February 11, 2023, is set to be hosted by the 2015 champions, Cote D’Ivoire.

Ghana’s group in this competition includes formidable opponents. They will be facing off against Egypt, the most successful nation in the history of the Afcon tournament, having secured victory seven times. Joining them are Cape Verde and Mozambique, both eager to make their mark and represent their countries with pride.

For Ghana, this tournament carries special significance as they aim to put an end to their forty-one-year drought of not winning the prestigious African Cup of Nations, and they hope to do so with a winning mentality of their own.
