Lionel Messi has responded to Neymar‘s goodbye message after the Argentine confirmed his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.
For Messi, who played his final match for PSG on Saturday against Clermont Foot, Neymar had written an emotional letter.
Together, Messi and Neymar played on the same field 206 times while at Barcelona and PSG, scoring a total of 67 goals. The majority of it happened while they were playing for the La Liga champions.
The Brazilian international wrote on Instagram: “It was a pleasure to share 2 more years with you. Good luck in your new stage and be happy. I love you.”
Reacting to the post, Messi wrote in the comments section:
“Thanks Ney! Beyond everything that remains, we once again enjoyed playing together and sharing the day to day. I wish you all the best. Apart from being ‘crack’, you’re a beautiful person and that’s what it’s worth in the end. I love you very much.”
