Retired Black Stars attacker, Mohammed Polo has asked the current crop of players for the Black Stars to stay committed to winning matches for the country since that’s the only way they can bring back the love of supporters.

In a recent interview on Asanteman Media Network, the celebrated Ghanaian footballer stated that he feels the current crop of players are overly concerned about making money and not winning games for the team.

In line with his disclosure, he urged the current Black Stars players to be more concerned about winning matches rather just focusing on getting paid irrespective of how they perform after matches played for the senior national team of Ghana.

Adding to this, he reiterated that it’s high time the Black Stars show immense commitment to winning games in order for Ghanaian football fans to love them the more.

Mohammed Polo, otherwise known as the ‘Dribbling Magician’ was part of the 1978 Black Stars teams who made the record of being one of the few African teams to host and win the AfCON trophy.

The Black Stars of Ghana will be moving to Ivorian Coast in a few weeks to in preparation for their Group games as they face seven times AfCON champions, Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde.

Being considered one of the less rated favorites for the 2023 AfCON tournament, Ghana will be looking forward to ending their 41-year AfCON trophy drought by winning next year’s AFCON trophy.
