Gary Al-Smith has slammed all sports journalist who engaged in all forms of abuse on the Black Stars players after their underwhelming performance which secured the team a 2:2 draw against Mozambique on Monday, 22nd January 2024 in their third group stage game for the Afcon 2023 in Cote D’Ivoire.
Renowned sports journalist, Gary Al-Smith in his submission alluded to the fact that, the team wasn’t at it best however, claimed that wasn’t the right way for his colleague media practitioners to express thier disappointment.

“We CANNOT normalise journalists abusing players in official tournament settings such as mixed zones and pressers. Leave that to fans.
“Yes, we can be pissed at our teams, but – according to job rules – we cannot do that.” He said.
