African football fans were left in complete shock after former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho failed to include Ghanaian football legend, Micheal Essien in his all-time best XI squad.

Despite Essien’s significant contribution under Mourinho’s supervision as Chelsea manager, the Portuguese football tactician omitted his named from his revered list of players.

Despite the fact that Mourinho has mentored numerous African players, some of which Salomon Kalou, Sulley Muntari and Mikel Obi, the only African player who was included in his all-time best XI lineup was Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba.

In a recent appearance made by Jose Mourinho on Mikel Obi’s Obi One podcast, the Portuguese football manager shocked most football fans after excluding top-class footballers like Essien, Harry Kane, Sergio Ramos and even the host, John Obi Mikel in his all-time best XI squad.

Though the exclusion of these top-class players might appear a bit surprising to most football enthusiasts considering their performance under the supervision of Mourinho, it’s safe to say the former Chelsea coach might have his own reasons for sidelining them.
