Former Black Stars defender, Sammy Kuffour has stated that the Black Stars of Ghana will require a lot of planning to make a mark at the upcoming African Cup Of Nations (AfCON) tournament.

According to him, lack of planning on the side of players is one major factors that could turn around the fortunes of the team as they get ready for the 2023 AfCON tournament.

He further disclosed that Ghana will be under immense pressure to perform at the upcoming tournament but it all balls down to having a good plan and not preparation.

Sammy Kuffour reiterated that there is a big difference between planning and preparation. Per his assertion, Ghanaians only prepare for tournaments but they don’t plan and this is one thing they should stop doing.

Moving forward, he urged the team to at least target a quarter final or semi final place in the upcoming tournament and plan very on winning the 2026 AfCON tournament.

Furthermore, the former Bayern Munich player stated that Ghana needs a long-term approach like the Senegalese team if they want to achieve success and trophies for the country.
