The New Patriotic Party’s presidential aspirant, Hon Kennedy Agyapong has made a unity call to all members of the party after failing to clinch the top spot in the flag-bearership race in order for the Npp to win the next general elections.

In the primaries which took place on Saturday November 3rd,2023 fielding Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Hon Afriyie Akoto and Hon Addae Nimo in a fierce contest birthed a certified results which was announced by the deputy commissioner of the Electoral commission, Dr.Serebour Quaicoe indicating that Dr. Bawumia polled 118,210 votes which represented 61.47% while his close contender, Hon Kennedy Agyapong, polled 71,996 votes which represented 37.41% and both Added Nimo and Afriyie Akoto representing the least minority in a total of 1.12%.

The law maker representing the people of Assin Central in his acceptance speech for the outcome of the election results applauded the electoral commission for their fair and transparent conduct of the election.

“Indeed, it’s a great day today. I believe the party has been fair and transparent. That is the only thing i have been preaching. And i must admit, this election is fair and my grassroots have spoken and therefore, I accept the results in good faith.

In the same vein, Hon Kennedy Agyapong promised to be off great help to the party in order for the Npp to make history by winning the next election.

“I pledge my support that we are working tirelessly to break the eight. Party members, we are here, we should put everything behind us and let’s unite this party with unity. I believe we can break the eight. I want to assure you, in 2024, the showdown is being translated today. We have to come together and give the National Democratic Congress (NDC) a showdown,” Hon Kennedy Agyapong said
