Legon cities have been attacked by armed robbers on Bibiani-Kumasi highway on their way back to Accra

The Greater Accra region based football club, Legon cities have been robbed by armed robbers on their quest to return from an away Ghana premier league game on Wednesday, 1st November 2023.

Legon cities honored a mid-week league game against Samartex which ended in a 3-0 win in favor of the home side. However, on their journey in returning back to the capital of Ghana, they were attacked by armed men in on the Bibiani-Kumasi highway.

According to Nicholas Mensah, who’s a victim of the terrible incident as he’s part of the playing body who were been attacked claim the armed men did not harm anyone in the vehicle but rather took their personal belongings which is worth thousands of cedis.

“There are no casualties but they took everything from us” Nicholas Mensah stated.

Legon cities haven’t kicked of the 2023/24 season on a brighter note. Their defeat to Samartex football club has been the second consecutive loss in the league this season.
