Black Stars coach, Chris Houghton has weighed in on the recent debate on the befitting position of Mohammed Kudus on the field.

In a exclusive interview with TalkSports, the former Everton eulogized the West Ham midfielder and described him as a possible number 10 attributing him to a playmaker beyond excellence.

According to coach Chris Houghton, one cannot doubt the fact that Mohammed Kudus is a very talented player.

He further disclosed that Mohammed Kudus is one of the few Black Stars players player who can be treated or positioned as “10”.

Throwing more light on the most suitable position for the Ghanaian midfielder, coach Chris Houghton stated that you can either play him as a number 10 or a winger because he is goal scored.

Hughton further stated that based on Kudus’ goal-scoring ability, any coach would like to get him close to the goal post but he also has does very well playing as a right winger.

After leaving Ajax for West Ham, there has been doubts on whether Kudus will be able to maintain his class as an essential goal scorer in the English Premier League.

As adaptable as he is, the Ghanaian midfielder has been managed to live up expectations scoring a total nine goals and providing fourteen assists after making 24 appearances across all competitions.

As the Black Stars get ready to kick-start their AfCON campaign early next year, Kudus will be considered a player to watch at the tournament and as such, he is expected to put more impressive performances to prove his worth as a talented playmaker and a goal scorer.
