Former Black Stars player, Odartey Lamptey has come out to provide details on how lack of education affected his football career simply because he didn’t know how to read and write.

After an amazing juvenile tournament in Scotland, a high number of football clubs came jostling to sign the Ghanaian football player including Stephen Keshie’s Anderlecht.

In an exclusive interview on Joy News, the ex-Black Stars player revealed that education was a big problem for him because he couldn’t read and write and as such he was signing contracts he had less understanding of.

He further disclosed that his agent at that time (Caliendo) came to meet his club officials and was angry after he was informed his money has been given to Odartey Lamptey, who in this case was the rightful owner.

Odartey Lamptey stated emphatically that, because of his inability to read and write, his agent took his money for more than four years.

To prevent other young footballers from going a similar experience, Odartey Lamptey has set up an academy to improve upon the education of other footballers.
