Aaron Latham Obituary: Where will Aaron Latham be buried?

Aaron Latham, born October 3, 1943, and died July 23, 2022, was an American journalist who co-wrote the script for the film Urban Cowboy with director James Bridges. He also co-wrote the book for the Broadway musical’s brief run in 2003.

Latham was a regular contributor to Rolling Stone, Esquire, Talk, and The New York Times, among others. Latham wrote a few novels and co-wrote the screenplays Perfect, also with Bridges, and The Program, both of which were inspired by his articles.

Latham was raised in the Methodist community of Spur, Dickens County, West Texas, near Lubbock. His parents were Annie Launa (Cozby) and Cecil Clyde Latham. He was previously married to CBS News and 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl; their daughter is named Taylor.

Where will Aaron Latham be buried? Latham was laid to rest in Spur, Texas, a small town about 75 miles outside of Lubbock, the hometown of Travolta’s character in “Urban Cowboy.”
