Below are the list of all the Tribes in Ghana;

The Ewe Tribe

The Ewe tribe, which accounts for 11% of Ghana’s overall population, is well-known throughout the country for its long-standing customs and musical legacy. The Ewe people are primarily farmers and fishermen from Togo and the Volta region. However, in recent years, when rainfall has been scarce, they have moved into weaving and other trades.

Many Ewe tribe members’ primary social group is their extended family, with whom they spend a lot of time. Dancing and drumming are other prominent features of this tribe, and on important occasions, hunting dances, peace dances, and war dances are commonly performed to the rhythm of drums.

The Ashanti Tribes

The Ashanti tribe of the Akan is Ghana’s largest, accounting for over half of the country’s population. The Ashantis established an empire in 1670, named Kumasi their capital ten years later, and the surrounding territories joined this prosperous and powerful monarchy. Twi is the first or second language of the majority of Ashanti tribal members.

The tribe is led by a king or queen who retains governmental control over the Ashanti country and its people. The Ashantis have persisted for generations thanks to their wealth-preserving economic contributions, which include agricultural exports such as coffee and cocoa, diamonds, lumber, and industrial minerals.

The Fantes Tribe

The Fanti tribe is one of Ghana’s best tribes. The Fante are a community of Ghanaians who dwell around and around Cape Coast, as well as along the coast between Accra and Sekondi-Takoradi. In the 17th century, the tribespeople departed the Techiman region and settled in numerous minor republics, each of which has a Fante chief who is a descendant of the monarchy. This principal chief is supported by several more junior subchiefs.

There are around 2.5 million Fante people in Ghana today, all of whom are descended from twelve patrilineal clans, according to estimations. Each clan has its own set of family names, and the majority of tribal members speak an Akan dialect of Kwa. Each lineage also  has a sacred stool that is an integral part of customary rituals and is thought to house the ancestors’ souls.

The Ga Tribe

Ga-Adangbe make up about 2 million people, or 8% of Ghana’s population. They predominantly live in Accra, Tema, La, Ningo, Kpone, Prampram, and Ada on the southeast coast of the Greater Accra region. The majority of Ga people are a blend of traditionalists, Christians, and Muslims.

The massive Homowo festival, which roughly translates as “mocking hunger,” is observed by the Ga people. This holiday commemorates the end of a devastating famine hundreds of years ago. Another well-known Ga holiday is Asafotu, a yearly festival honoring warriors observed by the Ada people. The Ga people are known for their elaborate funeral ceremonies, which include the construction of distinctive coffins that signify a person’s occupation or standing in the community. One of the well-known tribes is the Ga.

The Dagomba Tribe

The Dagomba are a large group of people that live in northern Ghana and Burkina Faso. The most widely spoken native languages among these Muslims and traditionalists are Dagbani and Hausa. At Dagomba villages, the chief’s dwelling is often a dome-shaped structure in the center of the community or elevated above the others. Drummers are important as court historians as well as musicians.

The traditional monarch of the Dagbon people is known as the Ya Naa, or King of Absolute Power. His cow skin throne can be seen in Ya Naa’s court, known as Yendi. His court is usually in session on Monday and Friday mornings in Yendi. In memory, Dagomba villages hold a festival known as Bugun, which translates as “fire” or “hell.”

The Guang Tribe

The Guan tribespeople are said to have spread across Ghana over a thousand years ago. It is known that a number of Guan subtribes are descended from them, most notably the Gonja, who are predominantly situated in northern Ghana and account for around a quarter of the total Guan population.

The Guang tribe, which now consists of approximately 26 ethnic groups, is said to have been Ghana’s original occupants. Many indigenous groups communicate in Fante and Guan dialects. The Anum tribe is well-known for their artisans, but some subgroups, such as the Gonja, are noted for their historical prowess as warriors.

The Kusasi Tribe

Currently, about 400,000 Kusasis are living in the Nawku regions in the northern part of the nation. The supremacy of Bawku and paramountcy has been the main source of present tension in Kusasi-other ethnic group ties. These strained links have also generated racial suspicion and strained relations with their neighbors.

The Mole-Dagbon Tribe

Despite having the potential to be Ghana’s second most populous tribe, only one in every seven Ghanaians belongs to the Mole-Dagbon tribe. The majority of them live in the country’s northern regions, such as Bolgatanga, and are further subdivided into smaller sub-tribes. Because of their expert art in basket weaving and African crafts, this tribe’s market has begun to gain global attention and recognition.

The Hause Tribe

Most Hausa people are found in various regions of Togo, Chad, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Nigeria, among other countries. They are by far the most populous tribe in West Africa. Hausa is an Afro-Asianic language spoken by the Hausa.

The Rasta Tribe

In the 1930s, the Rastafari movement emerged in Jamaica. Followers of this sect revere Haile Selassie I, who was the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974, as the manifestation of God, the Second Advent, or the reincarnation of Jesus. Legend has it that Haile Selassie was the 225th ruler of the Solomonic Dynasty, which was established by Menelik I, the son of King Solomon and Makeda, the Queen of Sheba, in the 10th century BC. The Rastafari movement addresses spiritual cannabis use, rejects Western culture referred to as “Babylon,” and asserts that Africa, known as “Zion,” is the birthplace of humanity. Rastafarians often identify as African royalty and adopt titles like “Prince” or “King.” Rastafarian communities exist worldwide, with Ghana being home to numerous Rastafari temples, especially along the shore near Kokrobite, where Rasta items are sold, and Rasta music festivals are held.

Nigerian actor Uzor Arukwe, popularly known as Odogwu Parara for his role in the movie Love in Every Word, has broken his silence on one of the biggest controversies that has trailed his career.

In a recent interview that has since gone viral, Uzor opened up about persistent gay rumours and how he was once romantically linked to another male figure in the industry. The actor expressed initial shock when he first heard the allegations but admitted that with fame comes controversy.

“I was taken aback when I heard it,” he said, referencing the claims that he was in a relationship with a man.

Despite the buzz surrounding his sexuality, Uzor clarified that he is not gay but holds no prejudice toward the LGBTQ+ community. He revealed that he has many gay friends, and he’s comfortable being around them.

“I have a lot of gay friends. I love them. If being gay was my sexuality, I would own it—and I’d be one of the hottest around,” Uzor stated confidently.

The actor emphasized that while he respects everyone’s sexual orientation, he would not accept being misrepresented or labeled falsely. He also noted that if he were gay, he would not hide it and would openly embrace that identity.

Uzor concluded his remarks by leaving the judgment to God, insisting that people should focus on his craft and not his personal life.

“We Will Mine Our Own Gold – Not for France, But for Our People” – Captain Ibrahim Traoré Declares

0

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the bold leader of Burkina Faso, has once again reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the country’s natural resources from Western exploitation, particularly from France and the United States.

In a recent statement, Captain Traoré declared that Burkina Faso will no longer allow foreign powers to tamper with its gold reserves. Instead, the country will take full control of its gold mining sector to benefit its citizens, not foreign interests.

As part of this bold move, the government has built a state-owned gold refinery to process gold locally, eliminating the need to export the mineral for refinement in the West.

Nationalization of Gold Mines

Under Traoré’s leadership, Burkina Faso has taken strategic steps to reclaim control over its natural wealth. The government recently nationalized several gold mines at a cost of approximately $80 million. Notably, two major gold sites — the Boungou and Wahgnion mines — which were previously owned by the UK-listed Endeavour Mining, were sold to Lilium Mining in a deal worth $300 million last year.

Interestingly, the government acquired these mines for a significantly lower price just months later, further asserting its mission to reclaim national assets and cut off external control.

A New Era of Economic Independence

Burkina Faso is rich in mineral resources, especially gold, and the new direction aims to ensure that this wealth stays within the country to develop its economy and uplift its people. Captain Traoré’s leadership has been marked by a growing push for African self-reliance and a rejection of neocolonial influence.

This move is part of a larger trend of African leaders demanding greater control over their resources and striving to break away from decades of dependency on Western powers.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré continues to make waves across the continent as a symbol of resistance against foreign interference and a champion of Africa’s right to self-determination.

SuperComputer Predicts Premier League Top 5 – See Who Misses Out

SuperComputer Predicts Premier League Top 5

As the Premier League season nears its climax, the race for Champions League qualification is heating up—and a SuperComputer has now made bold predictions about which five English clubs will make the cut.

According to data from Opta’s SuperComputer, five Premier League teams will earn a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. While Liverpool and Arsenal are practically confirmed, the fight for the remaining spots remains incredibly tight.

Only four points separate third-placed Manchester City and seventh-placed Aston Villa, making the battle for the top five one of the closest in years.

Latest Predictions and Probabilities:

  • Manchester City – 95.1% chance
  • Nottingham Forest – 80.1% chance
  • Newcastle United – 77.6% chance
  • Chelsea – 29.7% chance
  • Aston Villa – 17.3% chance

Despite their recent 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa remain in contention but are currently the outsiders. The loss sees them drop to seventh, and they now face an uphill battle for a top-five finish.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Champions League hopes remain alive with nearly a 30% chance, while both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are increasingly seen as strong contenders with over 75% odds each.

City and Villa have both played a game more than the rest of their rivals. Meanwhile, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Nottingham Forest all have five games remaining, giving them a potential advantage in the run-in.

Already Qualified:

  • Liverpool: Have mathematically sealed their Champions League place.
  • Arsenal: Sit comfortably with a nine-point cushion above sixth, making their qualification almost certain.

As it stands, three teams will battle for the final three spots, with form, fixtures, and fortune set to decide who plays among Europe’s elite next season.

EPL Drama: Liverpool Could Be Confirmed Champions If Arsenal Slip

EPL Drama: Liverpool Could Be Confirmed Champions If Arsenal Slip

Liverpool are on the brink of Premier League glory and could be officially confirmed champions tonight depending on Arsenal’s result.

The Reds secured a vital 1-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, thanks to a stunning strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold. The win extends their lead at the top to 13 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Under the guidance of manager Arne Slot, Liverpool are now just three points away from clinching the title. However, they may not even need to wait until their next match.

If Arsenal fail to beat Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium tonight, Liverpool will be crowned champions without kicking another ball.

  • If Arsenal lose, Liverpool become champions tonight.
  • If Arsenal win, they reduce the gap to 10 points — though they’ve played a game more.
  • If Arsenal draw, Liverpool remain 12 points ahead, meaning the Gunners must win all their remaining games and overturn a 10-goal difference to stand a chance.

Liverpool’s next game is at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur, and a win there could seal the title in front of their home fans — if it hasn’t already been secured by Arsenal’s result.

Stay tuned to xorlali.com for live updates on this exciting EPL title race.
