English former professional footballer, co-commentator, and sporadic studio pundit for Sky Sports Alan Smith was born on November 21, 1962.

Smith was a striker who spent his time on the field of play playing for three different football teams. Over the course of his career, he appeared in 464 games.
In 1981, Smith began his professional career at Alvechurch in north-east Worcestershire, where he is currently a club patron. In June 1982, he finally agreed to a professional contract with Leicester City.
