Gary Knafelc Cause of Death: How Did Gary Knafelc Die? Gary Knafelc, a Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer, died at the age of 90.

Gary played American football. Knafelc played receiver and tight end for the Packers from 1954 to 1962 and was the team’s public address announcer from 1964 to 2004. Knafelc was one of the few former Packers to settle in Green Bay after his playing days were over, as he owned an interior design firm after his football career ended.

Knafelc was born in Pueblo, Colorado, and graduated from Central High School in 1950. He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and played college football for head coach Dal Ward. Knafelc played on Vince Lombardi’s first two NFL championship teams in 1961 and 1962.
