This year, Barack Hussein Obama II, the first African-American president of the United States, shared his famous summer playlists. With Afrobeats currently ruling the airwaves, it’s no surprise that some of the artists championing the genre made it onto the former American president’s 2022 summer playlist.

Afrobeats continues to cross international borders, as some of the scene’s favorites, Burna Boy, Tems, and Pheelz, were included on the former American president’s famous summer playlist for 2022 this year. On Tuesday, July 26, the former president himself released the playlist entries via the bird app. According to the 44th President of the United States, it is an example of how music can truly bring people together.

As a result, his summer playlist includes Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last,’ Tems’ ‘Vibe Out,’ and Pheelz’ ‘Finesse,’ as well as ‘Koffee’s ‘Pull Up,’ Beyonce’s ‘Break My Soul,’ and several other records from various acts.
